The Charter

The Charter serves as both a pledge and a platform, uniting industry leaders who recognise that a sustainable, equitable future depends on balanced participation and shared opportunity.

Commitment

The Charter signals to employees, partners, and customers alike that signatories are committed to:

Representation

Promoting equal visibility and participation for women and under-represented groups across all roles, from leadership to frontline.

Equity

Ensuring fair pay, opportunity to progress, access to training and workplace conditions that support and retain diverse talent.

Inclusion

Building cultures that welcome all perspectives, enabling creativity and collaboration to thrive.

By becoming a signatory to The 49 Collective Charter, organisations accept a shared responsibility to shape an emobility future that reflects the society it serves – one where women are represented, opportunities are equitable, and progress is driven by the full breadth of talent available.

Why is The Charter important?

49% of driving licence holders in the UK are women. Yet, as the UK strives towards its wider decarbonisation objectives, women are often under-represented in industry or left behind as consumers within emobility.

The 49 Collective is a business-to-business UK focused activation, building upon the broader aims and objectives outlined by the Global Women in EV Day campaign, to increase the representation of women in emobility.

The 49 Collective Charter is a public commitment by organisations across the emobility ecosystem – from automotive and charging to policy, logistics, energy, and innovation – to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion at every level.

By signing the Charter, companies and institutions affirm that representation, fairness, and inclusion are not just values, but essential drivers of progress and innovation.
